About FRA:
Florida Republican Assembly, a Chartered Affiliate of the National Federation of Republican Assemblies (NFRA) is a political organization which promotes conservative principles and candidates within the Republican Party. Home of Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan and Fredrick Douglas Republicans. Members at the local, state and national levels work to recruit and elect Republican candidates who reflect the Party’s true Conservative philosophy.
The first Republican Assembly was founded in 1934 in California. The Republican Assembly movement grew primarily in the western part of the United States until, in 1996, several state Republican Assemblies formalized their relationship to one another through the creation of the NFRA, which was also tasked with the establishment of state chapters in those parts of the country to which the movement had not yet spread.
WHO ARE WE AND WHAT WE BELIEVE – We are a Judeo-Christian Organization that seeks the TRUTH.
Inalienable Rights: We believe that man’s “rights” flow from the Creator and the rights of life, liberty, and justice cannot be legitimately granted or rescinded by men.
Judeo-Christian Foundation: We believe in the guiding force of moral law as expressed by the Judeo- Christian ethic and contained in the Holy Scriptures of these historic faiths.
Self-Government: We believe that the only answer to the current moral decline in our nation is a return to the beliefs and standards of morality which our Founding Fathers placed into the Constitution. With the framers of that document, we believe President Adams’ statement that “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people: it is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” We understand that the concept of self-government begins with governing one’s self first, then family, community, state, and nation.
Education: We believe in the rights of parents to a quality education for their children. We support parental choice to create competition among schools, The education of our children cannot be compromised by, or advance a particular political agenda at the expense of the education of our future generations.
Taxes: We believe that the federal tax system is abusive to the American people while discouraging investment and growth. We believe in growth-oriented tax policies which would gradually eliminate punitive income taxes and move our tax system in the direction of use taxes and sales taxes only.
Free Enterprise: We believe in the free enterprise system as the best hope for men and women to fulfill their economic hopes and dreams. We know that the free market is the most efficient and the least costly system to deliver the highest quality goods and services at the lowest price to the consumer. We will support only those who support the free enterprise system through legislation to reduce or eliminate intrusive government intervention in the marketplace.
Family: We believe that the traditional American family, defined as any persons related by blood, marriage of a man and a woman and/or adoption, is the cornerstone of our American society, and the government is duty bound to protect the integrity of the family unit through legislation and taxation policies.
Sanctity of Life: We believe that the preborn child is a human being and deserves the full protection of the law.
National Defense: We believe in a strong and consistent national defense. We believe in victory over, and not accommodation with tyranny in any form or philosophy.
Right to Bear Arms: We believe in the unqualified right of our citizens to keep and bear arms without the intrusive hand of government.
Victims’ Rights: We believe in the concept of victims’ rights over the rights of any convicted criminal. We support a system of restitution as a deterrent to crime and recidivism.
Support of Israel: We support the right of Israel to exist as a free and sovereign nation, and as our most consistent ally in the Middle East, we believe its continued safety and security are paramount for the peace and stability of the region.
National Sovereignty: We believe in an America first program in which Government’s first concern is the welfare and protection of the American people. We do not believe in trade protectionism but support political leaders who will adopt policies that create fair and competitive trade.
Decentralized Government: We believe in the power of the individual over the power of the state. We believe that only small government truly serves the needs of the people.
WHAT WE DO – Stop False Republicans & Ensure Our Principles Thrive.
Coordinate and Advertise Republican Groups: We may not agree 100% of the time, but we exist to support and advance Republican principles around the state through informing our members about what’s going on with fellow members, not only in the FRA, but in “Tea Party”, “Liberty”, “9-12”, and “Republican Party” groups that share purpose and principle. Additionally, we provide potential speakers for group events!
Inform on Political Action and Activity: There are dozens of efforts to remove “RINO” politicians and to stop big-government legislation, but no one group is advertising it to the public and growing our ranks. The FRA is committed to creating a more informed and educated population.
Support Grassroots Local Chapters: Counties and other local areas have their own concerns and candidates, and know better than some top-down, detached structure on how to best grow and influence their politicians. The FRA will collect dues, membership information, and advertise in order to connect local principled Republicans with local chapters so that new people can get involved and engaged with the political process to cause a real, lasting, positive impact.
Support and Endorse Candidates for Political and Party Office: When someone decides they want to run for office, they need money, volunteers, and trusted advisors. We provide lists of consultants, activists, and potential donors from around the state who believe politics is about standing for principles, not simply trying to gain power and a paycheck.
Restore the Republican Party: We are the Republican Wing of the Republican Party. The National Federal of Republican Assemblies is committed to a Republican Party that maintains its brand and stands for something, not ignoring principles for expediency.
